WHAT IS SUBLIMATED PRINTING?

Here at My Club we're proud to say that all of the custom sports kit we produce is coloured & detailed using 'full sublimation printing'... but, what does that actually mean?

Sublimation is a scientific term that describes the process of a solid material being converted directly into a gas state, skipping the 'liquid' phase entirely. This is the exact process that makes sublimation printing different to traditional vinyl heat transfer.

Traditional heat-transfer textile printing involves choosing a base clothing item in the desired colour, then applying logos or other design details to a layer of vinyl or other material, which is then transferred onto the clothing using heat and pressure.

Heat-Transfer vs Sublimation

Standard heat-transfer printing can be applied to any clothing or material, and can often be a little cheaper than sublimating because there are more suppliers available. However, the logos and designs applied using this method are far less durable, making it undesirable for personalised sports kit and custom training kit which needs to survive more rigorous use than normal clothing.

Full sublimation printing works using heat & pressure in a similar way, but rather than transfer the design to a layer sitting on top of the material, the dyes are vaporised and propelled into the actual fabric of the clothing so that the colours become a part of the material itself, on a molecular level.

PRINTING ON FABRIC

Sublimated designs will never crack or peel and can be applied to the entire garment, allowing for more extravagant all-over patterns. It only works on polyester-based materials, but that's what makes sublimation so ideal for custom sport kits & personalised football kit; where all-over designs are standard and polyester is the material of choice due to it's robust durability & natural moisture-wicking capability.

Uniting through sports and giving back to the community

At My Club, we truly believe that sports have the power to bring people together and create positive change. That's why we're proud to announce the launch of Play4Ukraine, a grassroots initiative inspired by our partnership as the official kit provider for Game4Ukraine. 

While Game4Ukraine is a huge international sports match at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge on August 5th, with all-star teams captained by Shevchenko and Zinchenko, Play4Ukraine is a grassroots initiative pioneered by My Club intended to benefit every community, while raising money for a great cause. Game4Ukraine has already had a global impact, and now, with Play4Ukraine, we are taking this movement to the local level around the world.

We're delighted to be working directly with United24, President Zelenskyy's foundation to help the world support the people of Ukraine, to raise money to rebuild schools.

PLAY4UKRAINE

The inaugural Play4Ukraine event took place in Bletchingley on July 27th, with teams from Oxted and Reigate taking to the pitch in a friendly display of sporting solidarity. The event was a big day out for the local community, with families from Ukraine rehoused in the area present, as well as members of the Surrey and Tandridge councils. Claire Coutinho MP, the UK's Minister for Children, was in attendance and gave a great speech about how important it is for communities to come together to support the people of Ukraine and get children back to schools.

FEEL PRIDE

At My Club, we’ll be honest and say we didn’t think that much about gender and sexuality when it comes to sport. But now we’re delighted every time we see kit orders come through from teams who are finding their community and expressing themselves through sports.

Once in the kit builder, you can add your logo, change the colour or use a pattern, change the size and shape of the patterns, logos and text you use - and more.
